TCBY Sorbet Fizz

Sprite and sorbet dessert

Saturday is my birthday, and I'm not entirely sure what to do about it. I love celebrating my birthday and having someone else plan a celebration (not necessarily a party) for me. But Patrick isn't so good at realizing that some people DO like their birthdays so I often just plan to treat myself on my own terms. This year I also requested he plan "a meal and activity" for us, so we'll see how that goes tomorrow on my actual birthday (Saturday).

This year, I have a craving for some childhood nostalgia, and that includes desserts from TCBY. Anyone remember that place? There are none near here, the closest is 100 miles away in Summerville. I loved getting their sorbet fizzes, and wouldn't you know, they are really easy to make. Like, a recipe is barely needed easy! You can use your favorite flavor of sorbet here, I like lime so I am honoring that pastel green goodness because it's my birthday!

It tastes just like childhood. Like an unnecessary sugar rush just for the fun of it. Like empty calories and the joy of not caring.

Other Birthday Nonsense

The one thing that sucks about getting older, besides your body slowly deteriorating, is that your taste is gifts outstrips your friends' and family's budgets. Here's some stuff on my dream birthday wishlist that I know I won't be receiving:

Modernica Brasillia Chase

Have you ever seen such a perfect reading chair? There's nothing else like this in the world, I've Google Image Searched everywhere. It's reclining, there's room to stretch your legs out, it cups your back, and cradles your head and shoulders. But... it's $4,000. If you're feeling flush, I'd like it in Turbo Mushroom, thanks!

Moravian Star Light

I'd put this flush mount Moravian star light on my back porch to add a little Moroccan flair and style to the single bulb that hangs there now. But part of the present would have to be installation too!

New Paint Job

The clear coat on my truck is peeling, and I kind of want to get it painted a whole new color! But I also don't really want to pay for something so unnecessary myself. I love crazy car colors, but I also don't want everyone knowing where I am driving. I don't want to look like a Mary Kay lady, but I love this light pink small SUV! So it's probably best I don't choose a new color for my vehicle.
