Cute Tiny Appliances & Little Dipper Sized Hot Cheesy Corn Dip

I realized the other day that I have a small problem. Two, now that I think about it. The realization came when I stopped by my nearest Goodwill to get some inspiration for this very post and spotted the most adorable little appliance. It’s a small Crock Pot brand Little Dipper crockpot, which holds 16 ounces. My problem is that I love tiny kitchen gadgets and utensils as evidenced by these tools.

The second problem I have is that I have a bunch of slow cookers in a variety of sizes. This most recent acquisition brings me up to four slow cookers. But this littlest one is probably the most exciting, because I often just cook for myself, sometimes my husband too. So a larger slow cooker was too much for a smaller portion of a hot dip, or a fondue night. But now, the possibilities go as far as what I can melt in this little thing!

After a thorough washing using my usual thrifted appliance methodology, I christened it with a hot, cheesy corn dip. Since most recipes are for a much larger slow cooker, I adjusted down from this one. If you already own or have the desire to find a Little Dipper of your own, my scaled down version is below.

Little Dipper Sized Hot Cheesy Corn Dip

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Add corn to the Little Dipper, you may have to remove a spoonful or two at first until the cheese melts to make room for the rest of the corn.
  2. Then add all other ingredients, use a spoon to thoroughly mix together. Replace lid and heat for at least 15 minutes.

Since the Little Dipper cannot be submerged in water and the ceramic dish cannot be removed, be careful not to let the contents burn, and remove as much of the food as possible before it crusts over. That’s how I imagine this little guy ended up at Goodwill, someone wasn’t interested in the elbow grease involved to keep it clean if you don’t pay close attention. But as for this household, we devoured over three fourths of the dip before I even finished writing this post, so that shouldn’t be a problem at all.
