Before making this bucket list, I've already done some amazing stuff this summer: NASCAR racing experience, a trip to the lavender farm, and I just returned from Key West and Cuba! But I still have a few more things on my bucket list I want to make sure I get to do this summer.
- Make it out to the Lake Murray dam for some beach sitting and swimming. There's nothing like taking a cooler of LaCroix, a bag of chips, and my Kindle and relaxing in a beach chair in between dips in the cool lake waters.
- Go paddleboarding. I actually have my own board, but I don't always have anyone to go with and it seems lame and probably not safe to go alone.
- Go flyboarding. I swear these aren't all lake-related but did you know that there is legit flyboarding on Lake Murray? It's not cheap but looks fun.
- Head down to Sullivan's Island for some beach time. I love taking day trips down there and watching the cargo ships come and go.
- Take Meatloaf to the beach. I want to get an Airbnb for a night and take Meatloaf to the beach. I don't suspect she's a water dog but I'm sure she'll love running on the sand. I think only Folly Beach is dog-friendly, though if you know another SC beach that isn't Myrtle, let me know in the comments!
- Kill weeds! Our backyard is overtaken by weeds and I want them laid to waste. I'm hoping to be able to do some major work to the backyard next year (gotta save up some serious $$) but I want to do some of the easier work ahead of time.
- CAN lots of tomatoes! I just used up my last jar of spaghetti sauce and diced tomatoes recently, and this year I'd like to can 50 lbs of tomatoes to use throughout the next year. I'll be using an outdoor cooker for this though, it gets hot in the kitchen canning in July.
- Chihuly exhibit at Biltmore. At night.
- Get a good fall garden started. Of course this will happen much later in the summer, but I want lots of winter squash and autumn tomatoes.
- Enjoy a long weekend in DC. Our friend is getting married over Labor Day weekend, aka the official end to summer, though not summer weather here. We're making a four night trip of it and staying on Capitol Hill. If you have any fun things that should be done in DC other than Mall museums (done 'em), let me know!
What are you looking forward to doing this summer?
