Oct 3 – Flock & Rally is hosting a cider tasting by @WeirdBeerGuySC during 701 Whaley’s building-wide 5th anniversary celebration!

Oct 3 – Jack and Jane Sport (my favorite sports clothes store!) is hosting a happy hour in honor of their move to Trenholm Plaza! Stop by from 5-7 p.m. for drinks, a little treat for your next gym visit, and fun.

Oct 4-5 – Head out to the Gaston Collard & BBQ Festival for an odorous but nutritious good time.

Oct 5 – The official hours for the Soda City market have shifted to the infinitely preferable 9 a.m. til 1 p.m. Sleep in a little before socializing with what feels like more than half of the city.

Oct 10 – St. Lawrence Place Oysterfest includes food, live music, and a live auction, 6:30 p.m., $60

Oct 11 – Oktoberfest Columbia is held at an unlikely location… Incarceration Lutheran Church, yep, church. It runs through Sunday, and they DO serve booze.

Oct 12 –  Feeling political about your food? March Against Monsanto at 2 p.m. starting at the State House.

Oct 15 – Fall Harvest Week at Motor Supply Co. runs through Sunday and features special farm to table dishes highlighted each evening of the week.

Oct 17 – Experience Whiskey! Don’t just drink swill, drink the good stuff, handpicked from Bourbon (& Rosso Trattoria) owner Kristian Neimi, who wants Columbia to class it up and learn to love whiskey for its taste and elegance.

Oct 17 – Or you can enjoy the three B’s- Bluegrass, Bidding & BBQ to benefit the Palladium Society. 7 p.m. at the Robert Mills House, $20-50

Oct 19 – Lake Carolina celebrates it’s 11th annual Food & Wine Festival from 2-5 p.m. at Village Green at Lake Carolina. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door.

Oct 24 – Have an adult date night with Columbia’s Cooking! from 7:30-9:30 p.m. $50 per couple.

Oct 24 – Did you know that Rooftop Rhythms at Richland Mall includes tasty food from Forest Acres restaurants in addition to the snazzy tunes? 5-9 p.m. on top of the mall. Admission is free.

Oct 25 – Moar Oktoberfest by way of drinking on the Southern Patriot while you cruise Lake Murray. And hello, they promise polka music. 7-9 p.m., $45

Oct 26 – Don’t act like it’s not around the corner, just get ready. Learn about holiday cookie making at the McCutchen House at 9 a.m. Class cost is $50.
