I’ll be the first to admit to despising colder weather, but cooler weather foods and flavors are something I secretly look forward to every time the actual beginning of fall rolls around. While people are on @pumpkinsw (pumpkin spice watch), my eyes and tastebuds are aimed in other directions, like these:

1. Butternut squash- Butternut Squash Mac n Cheez (I unveganize mine with milk and butter though)

2. Fall Vegetables- Orzo with Caramelized Fall Vegetables and Ginger

3. Melted Cheese- Beer Cheese anything, including dip, risotto, and soup!

4. Hot beans and tomatoes- Pasta e Fagioli

5. Caramel apple- Ultimate Caramel Apple Pie

In other fall related news, I am taking my mind towards the cold, produce barren winter and am getting in gear to do some freezing this week of most of my CSA bounty is destined for the freezer so it can become ratatouille in the winter when warm squashes, peppers and onions in a tomato sauce bath would be best appreciated!

What fall flavors are you looking forward to? Are you preserving the harvest for a long, cold winter?
