Portal And…

Who loves spontaneity? We do, we do!

Last Friday I thought about taking a few days in October to go visit friend Kellie who just moved to Portland, Oregon. Yesterday, I bought my plane ticket to go!

It felt SO GOOD. I thought of something I wanted to do, and I just did it. Just… did it. Of course I planned the trip for days when the flight prices would cost the least. Of course I had to negotiate for time off with my job, but other than those two minor details, there was no second guessing, no over thinking it. Oh, it felt so good.

Reasons why this trip is extra special:

  1. It’ll be my first time going farther West than the Mississippi River!
  2. It’ll be my first plane ride that lasts longer than two hours (can someone front me some Ambien??)
  3. I get to see WOODY dogge! And Kellie too.

4. It’ll be my first real destination vacation in years, probably since 2007 when I last went to Orlando to spend a few days at Atlanta Braves spring training!

Now the hardest part is going to be waiting until the end of October to actually GO! In the meantime, I’ll see how many episodes of Portlandia I can handle watching on Netflix.

Have you ever been to Portland? Any suggestions on things I MUST do or see in my three days there?
