In the mood for something savory and easy, I decided to try out these Gardein Chipolte Lime Crispy Fingers. The directions said to put them in a toaster oven at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes, but with about six minutes left my oven starting hissing (guess I need to clean it) so I removed them a bit early.
They are not as crispy as they probably should have been, but they still tasted pretty good. The lime and the chipolte flavors very both subtle and pronounced at the same time. The texture of the “chik’n” on the inside was good not too mushy, hard, or stringy- similar to Gardein’s Chik’n Scallopini.
If you like a little spice and tang and an easy snack, these are great for that. I didn’t dip them in anything, but I bet they’d be great dipped into an aioli or chipolte mayonnaise. Just make sure your oven isn’t covered in crumbs so it won’t smoke and force you to take the fingers out too early! And that’s all I got to say about that. I’m off to clean out my toaster oven now.
